Personal Life

Lily Katherine Kinnear has chosen not to be in the spotlight. She probably decided on her own to stay out of the public eye.

Her Father, Greg Kinnear

Greg Kinnear, the comedic wit and dramatic prowess of a name that has made his mark in Hollywood. His roots were planted in the South of America before he reached the Hollywood lights.

Kinnear was raised very differently at Logansport, Indiana. He was born in 1963. His father, a career diplomat, gave him a global perspective – the family moved frequently – to Lebanon and Greece. That international childhood experience probably gave Kinnear his natural charisma and adaptability, traits that would later serve him well on stage and screen.

Kinnear developed his creative side at the University of Arizona. As a student, he hosted a radio show titled School Daze With Greg Kinnear. After graduation he worked in Hollywood – at first in marketing. However, his calling was elsewhere. He auditioned for an MTV VJ position, but fate had other plans. The network hired Kinnear as an on-location reporter.

Kinnear hit a turning point in the early 1990s. He invented and starred on Best of the Worst, a show mocking daytime television. This made him the first host of the pop culture phenomenon Talk Soup, which mocked daytime talk shows. Kinnear became a popular performer with his sharp wit and comedic timing.

Kinnear wanted the big screen despite his success on television. From there in 1994 he went to film, playing his first major role in the comedy “Blankman”. He soon proved himself versatile, playing comedic and dramatic parts. Audiences remembered him for his portrayal of a sweet but troubled character in the critically acclaimed “As Good as It Gets” (1997), for which he won an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.

Kinnear has a wide filmography. He played comedic roles in “Little Miss Sunshine” (2006) and “Stuck on You” (2003) and dramatic roles in “We Were Soldiers” (2002) and “Invincible” (2006). Besides television, he has appeared in shows including “Friends” and has been Emmy nominated for “The Kennedys” and “Modern Family.”

Kinnear keeps a fairly private personal life aside from his work. He married Helen Labdon in 1999 and has three children. Family details are scarce but he clearly values family. Kinnear is estimated to be worth around USD 20 million, thanks to an entertainment career.

Greg Kinnear inspires aspiring actors and television personalities. He’s become a Hollywood staple bouncing between comedy and drama, and a natural charismatic charmer. But with his undeniable talent and drive for the craft, Greg Kinnear certainly has many more memorable performances to come.
